Heath Ledger
Heath Andrew Ledger (4 April 1979 – 22 January 2008) was an Australian actor and director. After performing roles in several Australian television and film productions during the 1990s, Ledger left for the United States in 1998 to further develop his film career.
His work comprised nineteen films, including 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), The Patriot (2000), A Knight’s Tale (2001), Monster’s Ball (2001), Lords of Dogtown (2005), Brokeback Mountain (2005), Casanova (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), the latter two being posthumous releases.
He also produced and directed music videos and aspired to be a film director.
Heath’s family made a documentary called, “I am Heath” which explains his untimely death and gives his fans a beautiful glimpse into who he was and why he is a legend.
“When anything is blocking my head or there’s worry in my life, I just go sit on Mars or something and look back here at Earth. All you can see is this tiny speck. You don’t see the fear. You don’t see the pain. You don’t see thought. It’s just one solid speck. Then nothing really matters. It just doesn’t.”

CHARITY TO FIGHT PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE

ScriptWise is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing the harms associated with prescription medications through raising awareness and advocacy. We formed in 2014 to amplify the voices of the alarming number of families and individuals affected by the misuse of prescription drugs. From 2008-2014 alone, there was an 87 percent increase in the number of prescription opioid deaths in Australia. We work with our partners and those personally affected to help increase health literacy and to advocate for essential health interventions to ensure Australians can achieve a better quality of life. Together we will ensure reducing and preventing prescription medication misuse is recognised as a priority health issue in Australia.
